THE AWKWARDNESS OF BELONGING

As part of the first Sydney Fringe Festival, The Awkwardness of Belonging is exhibiting at Carriageworks from the 10 – 28th September. Carriageworks is a fantastic venue for pretty much anything, and this exhibition looks to be a fascinating collection from a variety of well-known and not-so-well known artists.

“The awkwardness of belonging’ – This group exhibition offers a range of artists’ responses to the shifting state of the world – changing politics that seem to be shifting to the right, the country-city divide, struggling environmental issues, concepts of beauty, the idea of the foreigner and constantly challenged notions of the self all conspire to make being in the world uncomfortable and ill-at-ease.”
